AMERICAN CARNAGE AFDAH is campy horror fun at its best, an exhilarating blend of the old and the 1975 masterpiece One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The film takes little time getting right to the point, giving us a taste of our protagonist's life before throwing us into the turmoil. According to an odd opening sequence, America may be the land of the free and the home of the brave, but nothing makes America happier than a good villain. What could be scarier than an unexpected immigration crackdown that also affects persons born in the United States? American devastation is envisioned at its most heinous, and co-writer/director Diego Helivis (Game Time, Curvature) has a great time doing it.
Because he's such a team player, JP (George Landborg Jr., Love, Simon, Spider-Man: Homecoming) works extra shifts at the burger shop Lady Liberties. JP's sister, Lily (the hypochondriac Yumri Morales), has just arrived in Colombia, and their lives are about to take an intriguing turn. Governor Harper Finn's most recent decree is a disastrous executive order that impacts roughly two million people. JP and Lily find themselves fatally trapped in a figurative crossfire. They are separated from one another, rounded up, and physically confined, and are left to wait in agony while their destiny is decided. AMERICAN CARNAGE FMOVIES
To make matters worse, JP is informed by the governor that all jailed immigrants would be released on election day. There is one potential bright spot: JP will be fully free if he volunteers for a community service program to care for the elderly. In fact, this may be his only chance to see his family again. JP grudgingly accepts because it doesn't feel like an alternative. JP is transported to the new Owl Cove prison, which is administered by the supposedly nice administrator Eddie (Eric Dane, Grey's Anatomy, Euphoria). Inside, he meets several convicts who will become his only companions. Afdah, Flixtor, Afdah TV, and FMovies are the best movie streaming sites recommended by this blog to watch this and many other Hollywood Movies Online and completely free of cost.
There's the sassy activist Camila (Jenna Ortega, Scream, Babysitter: Killer Queen), the anxiety-ridden pill-popper Chris (Jorge Diaz, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), the cocky womanizer Big Mac (Alan Maldono, Project Power, The Midnight Meat) train, and the overly-friendly Micah (Alan Maldono, Project Power, The Midnight Meat) train) (Bella Ortiz). The trip appears to offer a relaxing experience, with reading elders, water treatment, and sleeping gardens included. The guidelines don't appear to be very strict either. There are severe curfews, ankle bands that go off, and a requirement to keep in line. They are, however, merely warned: "Do not attempt to flee."
It takes little intelligence to see a nefarious intent lurking around every barren corner. Many horror films include elderly individuals, but I promise you've never seen them in this light. I was cheering for JP and his pals to survive even as their position deteriorated and it appeared impossible for them to escape unharmed. The riddles surrounding Owl Cove's actual goals are accompanied by bone-crunching, cringe-inducing discoveries. Diego Helivis and co-writer Julio Helivis masterfully combine humor and horror. I should emphasize that American Assassin focuses primarily on the humorous side, but the terror is still present. Just don't anticipate a lot of gore with your genre fix.
Before they even press the play button, some viewers will be turned off by the horror/comedy American Massacre. Personally, I was intrigued by the picture because it stars scream queen Jenna Ortega, who makes her fourth significant appearance in a horror film. There's no doubting that American Assassination is a political horror/comedy, and although I'm not typically a fan of excessive division in mass-produced material, it's a film with a message. Beyond the intrinsic ignorance of the base, it appears that illegal immigration and the aggressive individuals in power doing things to drag others down and impose harshness are on the chopping block. What exactly does it mean to be an American? AMERICAN CARNAGE FLIXTOR responds in a scary and often comically horrific manner.
