Full movie The Wonder Afdah online in HD. The plot of this intense drama takes place in 1862 on the outskirts of a small village in Ireland. The country is still grappling with the aftermath of the infamous famine that ended a decade ago, though few speak directly about it or the death that followed. Meanwhile in the village, 11-year-old Anna O'Donnell (Kila Lord Cassidy) observes a religious fast. Many in the village and those who have heard of it believe that it is a miracle. After all, the girl has not eaten, according to her and according to her family, for four months.
To witness this unusual phenomenon and monitor the girl's health, an English nurse, Elizabeth Wright (Florence Pugh), who is called Lib by those who know her, arrives in the village. She is a medically committed and scientifically confident young woman who is impatient with those who question such matters. But now Lieb is not ready to believe that her young patient Anna, who is starving herself, refuses to die and, in fact, turns the foundations of her philosophy of medicine, worldview and habitual human life upside down.
When Lib first heard these details, she immediately declared that such a thing was impossible. However, when the nurse arrives in the village, she realizes that this is a fact. However, Lieb, faced with a dispute between science and religion, tries to solve this mystery and, little by little, finds a physiological answer to the secret of Anna's survival without food. But the problem is that no one believes her insistent claims, because in this remote place all secrets can only be associated with unconditional faith, which can save life, reward a person for his merits or punish the souls of the dead.
